Journal 2

Transportation is really my concern when I fisrt came to CA. People always complain about the inconvenience getting around here by using public transportation. This inconvenience even worst than that with a person who has a fear of driving like I do.
Actually, I live far away from school and each day either my sister or my cousin has to pick me up because I can't drive. I have to say that the U.S. has a really good road. Indeed, by driving people can go anywhere they want at anytime. Moreover, the roads are wise and also, people normally follow the rules that make people drive easier. However, the high speed on the freeway and the difficulty of changing land are totally my nightmare.
On the other hand, the public transportation in CA is really weak. At the biginning I tried to go to school by bus, however, the inconvenience had me give it up. Actually I must leave home at 5AM in order to come to the class on time at 8. It a big waste of time that makes driving become the only option to go to school.  There are no subway, no train to go get around here.
Otherwise comparing the traffic in the US and Vietnam-my hometown, there is a big different. People can never imagine how the Vietnamese people especially people live in Ho Chi Minh City deal with their traffic. Ho Chi Minh City is one of the biggest cities in Vietnam in term of size and economics. With a big population, the traffic jam is extremely terrible on the rush hour. Scooters in everywhere merge onto the small road. At the intersection, even there does have the traffic light, it become useless because people totally get stuck so it is out of control.

However, I was growing with the scooter. I totally love taking scooter to go around my city. With scooter you can run to the extremely small roads which are very common in Vietnam and park it easily.
After all, the complaint about the traffic in CA seems worthless because it is the way the world runs, you have to go with it or you will be eliminated.

Introduce

Today it is a shiny Sunday. However, I am now stuck in the screen wondering how to introduce myself. I am a Vietnamese young woman who is single and still looking for a man ^^.  I was spending five years in France before coming to the U.S. My goal in life is really simple which is to graduate master degree in chemistry then get a good job with a good salary to pay for my bills and travel once a year. I am really nice person but timid. At the first sight, people say I am kind of difficult to hang out. By coming and talking to me, you will see how friendly I am. I just don’t know how to joke.
I am glad to introduce one of my lovely classmates named Huyen. She comes from Vietnam just like I do. She begins studying at ALP last semester. Her biggest aspiration in life is to run her own business and become rich. According to her, some never likes to spend his or her whole life working for somebody, he or she always dreams of becoming entrepreneur. She knows that “a goal without a plan is just a wish” therefore she is working hard to achieve this goal. Good luck to her.
